Throttle plate position? '97 automatic, 100K Am having some idle/starting issues & took off the throttle body & cleaned it with TB cleaner. While it was off, I noticed the plate/butterfly valve didn't quite close all the way. If I look thru it with a light source behind, I can see a slight gap top & bottom...hard to see when ...
I have for sale a set of OBDI (m50/s50) intake runner gaskets, a throttle body gasket, and the bimmerworld OBDI throttle body adapter plate. ( http://www.nexternal.com/bimmerworl/Product658 ) The plate allows use of two regular throttle body gaskets without modification. Everything is brand new and I simply have extra's. The gaskets are Victor Reinz. Everything ...

My car has been feeling rather sluggish and slow lately. It misfires pretty badly on a cold start, sounds like its got some aggressive cams in it. Also once its warm it still misfires on cylinders 6,2, and 5. I took it to a shop because I didn't have time to diagnose it with school and all, and I just wanted it fixed. They gave the car a good once-over, checked everything for leaks, both ...

Like so many LT5s my 94 had developed corrosion around the edge of plate on the throttle body side. This necessitated scraping off of bubbling area and refinishing. In my opinion, even if this area is re-powder coated, galvanic corrosion if not stopped will result in bubbling just the same. However, some LT5s seem to be immune from this phenomenon perhaps due to low mileage. Last time I had a ...

Hi, I changed the ICE oil and knocked the dust out of the air filter. I'll swap it in the spring. The windshield wipers are still in good shape. But the throttle body cleaning was interesting: You'll notice a dark carbon deposit to the right of the throttle shaft at the bottom. A shot of throttle cleaner and a narrow brush and it is gone. This sticky deposit in cold weather can keep an ...

Make sure that your throttle plate returns to the fully closed position (hits the closed stop). Also, previous owner may have adjusted the throttle stop screw keeping the plate partially open. The plate should close almost all the way but not so much that it sticks when you open it. There should me a little slack in the trottle cable when the accelerator is released. The TPS output voltage ...
