( I want to revisit the "thimerisol/mercury link to autism" one more time. Many of us were convinced by the study that showed: "in Denmark where thimerisol was REMOVED from vaccine, the autism rates did NOT go down". That pretty well sums it up, how can you argue with that? Here is how: THEY DIDN'T TELL US THAT THE RATES ACTUALLY WENT UP!! There were actually MORE ...

So, I've been waiting and waiting to get the h1n1 shot. After weighing pros and cons I decided it was very important to get, however, my OB called today and they finally got it in, but it isn't a thimerisol/preservative free vaccine. The nurse I spoke with stated that they have no hesitation in distributing this shot amongst the ob patients and consider it to be perfectly safe. I made an...

All - I am pregnant and after a lot of research finally ready to get my H1N1 shot, but I was wondering where I can find a Thimerisol Free version in Atlanta. I live in Virginia Highlands but will travel anywhere to get this version. My OB's and former OB's office only have the Thimerisol Mulit-dose version. Thanks for your help! Jamie

TTC and concerned about the H1N1 vaccine - is it true there are no thimerisol free ones? + They were talking about it on the View today & that's the impression I got. There haven't been too many cases of the flu in my state yet so trying to stay calm.

Does anyone have any information, links, and/or experiences with the nasal H1N1 vaccine. I have heard it doesn't have thimerasol preservative, which is a relief. That, however, allows me to have the quandry of am I going to give this vaccine or not. I understand the history of immunity and how our generation and our children have not been exposed to this virus and we don't have ...

I don't know what I am going to do re: the H1N1 vaccine. It scares me to think of my little babe getting sick, especially since there have been so many deaths in otherwise healthy children. However, I read an article in the Seattle Times that worries me. Basically, the government has lifted the limits on Thimerisol used in the H1N1 vaccine in order to get it on the market faster. Has ...

I got thimerisol-free versions of both vaccines, but I had my worries after getting them too...I probably wouldn't have gotten them if I'd waited a few minutes to decide instead of jumping the gun. (this was the first time during any of my pregnancies that I've gotten a regular flu shot, let alone the H1N1 vaccine) BUT I did it, and the only side effect really had from either shot was a sore ...

Message to everyone, Please remember to come back and post an update or progress report for all the future sufferers, and please post your location as close as possible (with state, and general area) so that these reports can be data mined in the future. Also try to give dates of when symptoms started, and/or got worse. It will help with tracking, and many other details. ...

this won't be the last either. Between the capitulation to the lobbies about keeping preservatives and adjuvants out of as many vaccine formulations as possible, the manufactures have to be very careful about making sure every lot stands up to their warrants on efficacy. Add to that the "normal" challenges in keeping any attenuated virus-based composition viable ...

Jen - my appt isn't until Jan 19th, and I will be 10w2d, if that makes you feel any better. I am kinda ticked at my OB today too though. A nurse called to take down information (sort of a pre-appointment thing?) and she was really getting on my nerves. First of all she was calculating my due date WRONG?! This is your JOB, and I know how to do it better than you do? Crazy. Then she ...

I'm not sure, but these concerns played into my decision to get the (thimerisol free) H1N1 vaccine. I wonder how long they'll keep that under 14 policy in place? It seems like H1N1 cases are already diminishing...

It is not logical to me to feel like there are such an incredible amount of unknowns about the swine flu vax when the only difference between IT and the regular flu vax is the virus itself. I just can't wrap my head around why that's difficult to conceptualize? I also got the vaccine without Thimerisol (mercury) but would have gotten it anyway considering the amount of Thimerisol in the ...

Everyone had to decide if they were going to get the shots or not. This season was particularly scary for pregnant women, so many of us decided it was worth it to get the shot. No sense in worrying about your decision after the fact because there isn't anything you can change. Besides, we have yet to see anything stating pregnant mothers who received the vaccine harmed their fetus. My ...

I got the shot in my 2nd trimester and we're just fine. The flu is much worse in the trimester due to all of the changes that have occurred over the past few months. The benefit of protection FAR outweigh the risk of any side effects of the vaccine. Even if you're worried about the MINUTE amount of mercury in the vaccine (in the form of thimerisol - used as a preservative) - keep in mind that, ...
