I like the look of a sharpening filter (30/100) in FCP. But when I try to use one with any clips that have been graded in color, they look very grainy. I've tried to apply the filter before color grading and also after color grading. Both ways give the same grainy results. Any clues? Trey...

think something like this would work for sharpening scissors? i don't have a second pair so i can't really send off my current ones to be sharpened. i figure it's under $10 and i'll test them out on crappy scissors i don't really use. if all else fails, i can use them for knives in the kitchen or something. but whatcha think? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BYJIZI?...0&linkC ode=...

Chain Sharpening

Well, I bought one of those Oregon sharpening jigs. Its ok but I dont like the plastic areas on it. I also had to buy a file to go with it and it came with one of those guides that rides right on the file. That works real well. I also noticed that its pretty easy to sharpen a chain without it. I still use the guide just to be sure and because I am green to it. I am no longer stretching ...

Yes Jannie. It can be pretty frustrating to sharpen in Lightroom because there's no concept of zoning. So, any sharpening will apply to the image as a whole, which isn't necessarily the optimum for you. Try taking a look at http://www.peachpit.com/guides/conte...hop&seq Num=369 Which takes you through the sharpening option in LR. Unfortunately, I don't know of any other (...

Mitch, you are the best. You and others like you are the reason this forum is so good. Having those of you who "know" so freely share your knowledge with those of us who don't is truly outstanding. A HUGE thanks to you and all who have helped me(and others) along in our photography and post processing.

You can shave with a 90* angle if you wanted to. What I'm saying is that depending on the angle, you can only drop the spine so low.
