I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm going crazy trying to get my ipod to work. When I turn it on, tt says I need to use itunes to restore. So, I plug the ipod into my computer and in itunes, a message pops up saying that I have a corrupted ipod and I need to restore through itunes. I click ok and then click the restore button. I have a first generation iMac in good working condition. it has OS 10.3 installed. I even have theoriginal performa CD and the Educatiors Advantage CD package which includes rosetta stone, grolier, Leonardo, and The virtual Macintosh Trade Show that came with the computer. The original airport base station (graphite) works flawlessly except the transmission is spotty in the room where the base station is physically located. I have tried changing the channel but this is not the answer. Any suggestions?

First gen means first generation to attend college (anywhere) it does not mean first generation in the US. Applications ask for the highest grade completed by your parents, this is where they get first gen information.

I have had similar difficulty in the room where my Graphite is located. I found that reception was improved by suspending a length of aluminum foil horizontally above the base station.  

Thanks to all of you, there was a few weeks between me playing with the original and the swirly ones being delivered so never had the chance to make a proper comparison, I knew they didn't feel the same but as we all know it's never easy to compare rackets hadn't noticed there was a different pattern on them though.
