Two of them, both from English TV (BBC or ITV): The first was a kids' show, I think. Only one image to go on: a boy covered in autumn leaves. Something supernatural happens, a wind blows the leaves away. The boy's eyes glow. The second was for older audiences, and I recall a scrap of narrative. A man walking his dog in a field. The dog runs off. The man walks along the field...

UPDATED Thu Aug 21 2008 09:45:44 Movie from the early 80s. Teens and preens in a new housing development (I want to say Colorado). One of the kids is a blond kid that skateboards everywhere - including in school, he wears sunglasses and does not talk. The whole movie is about how the kids are feeling uprooted by their parents who are in this new (and isolated) subdivision. ...

Need help remembering movie title. Saw the film in the early 80s. It was foreign, main character was a real schlep who spent most of the film as the whole town's fool ... only in the end to have laid traps for all.

Saw this movie on tv once, or at least the last part of it. It showed this lady who opens her door to see this kid on her doorstep during a thunderstorm (or maybe it was her kid?) They end up talking then the kid goes upstairs and hides, playing with the lady who goes looking for her or him while the powers out. Turns out that kid was a monster or zombie then the film ends. Any ...

...three things had happened at DC. Two we know for sure, one we can speculate on. The sure things are 1. The use of mini-series and limited series for comics that might not have lasted on their own and 2. The establishing of the direct market, which allowed edgier titles to find a home and also increased sales because they were non-returnable. The item we can't be sure about is DC's ...

Donnie Andrews was a stickup man with a .44 Magnum who robbed drug dealers and was sentenced to life in prison for murdering one of them. Fran Boyd was a heroin addict who shoplifted to get from fix to fix, passing her stupors in the shooting gallery and stash house that once was her middle-class home. Their separate stories of decline into drugs and violence are nationally known: Mr. ...

After spending the night in Kingston (part 4), I awoke to a rainy morning, the first bad weather of the trip. I drove along the west side of the river until I reached Catskill, NY. It's a small town of about 4,200 and the seat of Greene County (pop ~ 50,000). Catskill was incorporated as a village in 1806. Albany is 31 miles to the north and the Bronx is 95 miles south. The city is also ...

McEnroe d. Borg 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-3 Unlike the 1980 USO final , this one wasn't decided by service percentage or even return errors. The big difference this time was in the winners. McEnroe's rate of winners was not especially high for him, but Borg's total was well below McEnroe's. My stats: McEnroe won 121 points overall, Borg 104. SERVICE McEnroe served at...
