I do so much. Especially with my daughter. She is very pretty, outgoing, funny , friendly, smart. All those good things. She has a ton of friends, everyone she meets falls in love with her. She is only 5 and has had many crushes and lots of boys have crushes on her. I am just not wanting to see the teenage years. My son is not quite as outgoing as DD. But he is a flirt. Anytime he ...

Speech Problems in teenage years Hi, I am 17 and have a problem with speaking. I can speak perfectly clear in my head, but when I speak it comes out mumbled and warped. I want to ask if this is a problem which can be cured. And if it can, who can cure it. If I cannot fix this issue, I will get nowhere in life. Thanks

My oldest was dx with Asperger's last December. He is now 8 1/2. He also has severe ADHD. We have resisted medications up to this point and have continued to seek alternative treatments - gf/cf diet, omegabrites (fish oil), no sugar/dye/nitrates/nitrites/etc..., plenty of physical activity, and now we are in our 6th month of neurodevelopmental therapy. So far nothing has made a significant ...

I am posting this on the Special Needs Board as well but know there are many that frequent this board who may not see it over there. I am really hoping to get a lot of feedback so I figured that posting it in both places will give me the best shot at that. My oldest was dx with Asperger's last December. He is now 8 1/2. So I've been knocking on wood the day Tyson turned 1 because apparently huskies go through a particularly bad phase during 1-2 years in which they are just absolutely horrible. It's been 6 months (tomorrow) since he's turned 1 and at that time he actually became an angel. He stopped pulling so hard on walks, exception of the occasional squirrel or rabbit, and had adjusted really well. Today... it...

It seems to now be widely accepted, at least in the UK, that teenagers are generally moody and depressed. This is a massive generalisation, of course, but I think there may be some truth in it. To me, a lot of my teenage friends do seem less emotionally stable and less able to cope with life's challenges than adults I know. It makes sense to me as well because people get good at things, in this ...

Please please go to the doctors, and see if you can be referred back to speech therapy. My son has been in speech therapy since he was 3 and hes now coming up for 7. It has made such a difference to his life and his confidence that he can now speak clearly and be understood. I'm not saying that its easy and that its not frustrating sometimes, but it is soooo worth it. Hearing ...

Well, I'm not sure mine qualifies as an Aspie or not. That was her label at 9. At 14, she was diagnosed with classic Autism, and 3 learning disabilities. now, at 15, she has been diagnosed with a sleep disorder, and is on medication for that. Her neurologist believes that all of the behaviors that lead to the autism labels can be explained by the sleep disorder. When she is on medication, ...

^ they won't understand you until they experienced it. most people try to justify not smoking/drinking by looking down on others who do, but they fail to realize that everything in life should be taken in moderation. try to live a more balanced lifestyle, and you will be happier. you don't have to smoke or drink to make friends, but using that as an excuse to stay in at home and FFXI all ...
