You learn from experience- What started out to be a drawing exercise... escalated! A Small 7*9 watercolor - 15 min free hand sketch. Trying to better my perspective drawing, as I am No Landscape or arcitectual painter! This was done with a very limited pallet, consisting of UMB, BS, Cobalt, Yellow Ochre and a touch of rose madder and of course the mud left over on my palette from other ...

Recently attended a 3 day workshop with Alvaro Castagnet. Have only been painting for about 18 months so found it a little intimidating. Just love his style and how he captures the atmosphere and mood in street scenes. This is one of the demonstrations during the course. I did this a few days later on a half sheet. Little too dark in the shadow areas and need to work on figures and a few other...

A suburban street scene taken (at a guess) in the early '50s. I'm not sure what the car behind the Morris is, and behind that is a Ford, I think. The next vehicle I thought at first was a Bond 3-wheeler, but it doesn't seem to have a headlamp where a Bond's ought to be. The bike on the other side of the road (reg. Title: Western street scene Name: Raine Kuusi Country: Finland Software: Photoshop Simple western-themed sketch, trying to stick to more loose paintings. Detailing takes often all the life away.. I also tried to focus on the character poses and get them right, for once.

I hear you about the intimidation - I did a brilliant workshop with Joseph Zbukvic recently and his genius almost put me off for good Welcome to the forum and I think you've done really well here - it is a very difficult scene, as Ral said. Your figures are excellent - looking forward to seeing more from you. Nicole
