Two Rottweilers attacked Earl this morning as well as a couple of deer. Think I was pissed ? Animal control people never call me back about these dogs and some day they are going to kill a neighborhood child. Anyways, I ran outside to try and get them off Earl and then they started after me. I ran inside, got my 12-gauge and shot twice, hitting one of the dogs in the butt. They ran off into the ...

You have no idea how often I hear "Rottweilers don't shed much, they're a short coated breed!"..... Hmmm, while with a good diet and frequent brushing....this may be true for the most part, but nobody with a Rottweiler escapes the blowout seasons! LOL Happens anywhere from 2-4 times a year. I kid you not, this accumulated over ONE DAY! (and only the main floor of the house). And this has ...

Hi everyone! My OH and I recently got two beautiful rottweilers. A 15 week old male called Zeus and a 12 month old male called Jack. We got Zeus about a month ago and Jack 3 days ago. Zeus is coming long fantastically and is so well behaved! He's had a few accidents on the carpet, so he's mainly restricted to the kitchen where it's tiled. (he's got a bed and his crate, but mind you, at ...

Oh yes, after a 4-day vacation about 10 days ago, Earl is back home. Just fed him 7 huge apples, a snack after feeding him 2 buckets of alfalfa pellets earlier. The bad news ? The two Rottweilers that I shot at recently with my 12-gauge have now been joined by a third Rottweiler and they come here every night looking for Earl. Those dogs are smart. I watched them head to the top of the hill last ...

What's funny is when I shot last night at the Rottweilers I was standing right next to Earl and he didn't even flinch. He knows what's going on. The Rottweilers really have him scared, as a couple of days ago, I went outside at the crack of dawn to feed Earl and he was hiding on top of the hill behind a huge log. I had to talk to him for 20 minutes to get him to come down the hill for breakfast. ...

Animal control actually came out yesterday along with the police. They are basically useless government employees that want to sit behind a desk and get a paycheck. Taking matters into my own hands on this issue and fairly soon there will be three dead Rottweilers. If I shoot at night, I'll use the 22 since it's quiet. When I shot the 12-gauge a couple of days ago, it sounded like a bomb went off...

Wow, the study that you cited has a significantly larger population of Rottweilers than GSDs. That is strange. Statistics are funny. You can make them look one way or another. There are 5 million pit bulls registered out there. but only 800 thousand sheps, and over 900 thousand Rottys. Well, that isn't the case around here, but I have no clue about the rest of the country.

My thoughts, as the daughter of a (reputable) dog breeder: - all breeders should be licensed (and it would be a paid license), and if at all possible, their kennels inspected regularly (yes, I know that's a pipedream, as most states don't have the money or staff to do it, but couldn't the cost of the breeding licenses help cover that?) - if you breed an animal intentionally or even ...
