Hello guys, I have a simple question: do you know of a submersible sump pump that can handle lint from my washer? The Zoeller M-53? Background: My house is probably about 50 years old and my laundry room is separate from the house - and about 4' below the level of my main drainage system. The washer drains into a concrete sump basin that is outside the house (it also catches rain runoff, ...

We're finally installing my wall cabinets in the laundry room tomorrow. They're 36" wall cabinets, 30" high, 12' deep. They will go across the whole back wall. My ceilings are 8'. How high up on the wall should they be hung? Part of my problem with this is I want to be able to put a few things on top of the cabinets. I'm adding crown and that will also hide the base of whatever I use on ...

We are about to embark on a major kitchen remodel and house addition, to include a mudroom and laundry room. I am trying to figure out counter material for the laundry room. I will need about 30 sq. ft. of material. I was thinking about soapstone with a soapstone sink? I will use bleach in the sink from time to time for soaking things. Or certain types of granite be all right too? ...

My friend and I have been trying to remember a kids program we used to watch, it was some kind of game show. I think they had to work their way up to the top floor. There was a guy possibly on a chess board and if he caught them they went to the laundry room. I think they had to play games to earn time in the final room. Please help its driving me crazy! "I got hit in the face with...

That gray sock is languishing inside a washer between the barrel and the inside. It's scared, lonely, and beginning to lose all hope of ever seeing its mate again.

BTW, the easy way to hang a wall cabinet is to screw a piece of wood to the wall. Almost any straight scrap you have lying around, a 2"x4" or whatever. Figure out where you want the bottom of your cabinet to be then draw a level line on the wall. Line the top of that piece of scrap wood up with your line and screw it, in several places, to the studs inside your wall. When you're done with ...

Thanks housefairy. Actually the guest bathroom is on the other side of the kitchen on the front of the house. We are putting this one in so the people from the pool can use it quicker and not walk through the house over the hardwood floors. I'll be sure and check out the California Closet systems.

Bucks County Soapstone even has an old fashioned washboard sink with the horizontal rides for scrubbing the clothes. I wouldn't worry about oiling it either. There is not oil left on the surface of the stone and it wouldn't stain laundry. Maybe the first day tops.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouild love to have a laundry room where you can't see the washer and dryer :) The eye candy teaches you a lot...I see hiding the machines is going to be my first priority!
