I work for the ASPCA, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We have a division up north called the OSPCA, that covers Toronto. They just pulled off a raid a couple days ago. The Toronto Humane Society was starving and beating the dogs. CBC News - Windsor - Humane Society officials charged with cruelty

There have been a lot of "issues" with the THS going back about 30 years, since a bunch of radicals took it over. There has been a lot about them in the news recently, including criminal charges laid against some of the principals there. The latest bit is this horrible item: Mummified cat found at Humane Society How could someone who's supposed to help animals do such a thing???

I heard this on the news last night and was shocked! http://www.canada.com/Humane+Society...475/story.h tml The THS is saying that they are being targeted for their no-euthansia policy but that just doesnt make sense to me. I hope that this isnt true but if it is I hope they dont get off with just a slap on the wrist. Our local radio station is reporting that animals were found with...

I immediately mute the T.V. and change the channel. Like, there is no time wasted when doing so. They break my heart when I don't change quick enough and I see the first image of a dog.

Unless you're from Toronto, you probably had no idea about this stuff. But long story short, for the past little while there's been a campaign of animal rights activists and just animal lovers to have some shady stuff sorted out here at the Toronto Humane Society. Well, apparently everyone's hard work wasn't in vain! Bad that it happened, but good that it's stopped! http://www.citytv...

I was out there getting used crates and saw this guy being shown to a family. He looked like a nice example of the breed - nice conformation, solid bone and a keen, intelligent expression. The handlers tried walking him past a cage full of guinea pigs and you could see he had a nose and a mind for work. He is alot of dog - too much dog for most families so he's been there a while. http://...

Makes me want to donate all the money I have and adopt every animal! I'm giving my dogs an extra hug and kiss while they sleep right now. It blows my mind every time I see an animal who is abused. I can't wrap my mind around it. If I could, I'd set a law that what ever abuse is done to a helpless animal, should be done to the abuser.
