Anybody else in the path of this snow storm???? Sounds pretty substantial. We're supposed to get 2 to 7 to 12 inches depending on who you listen to. I'd like a white Christmas so I hope it happens.

I'm on page 400, a little over halfway through. So far, it's as good as Knife of Dreams, with the oppression ratcheting up noticeably. I'm liking it, but I haven't found the breakneck pace that so many folks have mentioned. I read a spoiler-free review on the Tor site that made this seem like the missing gospel; as yet, I'm not quite THAT moved. But I have been moved. So far, A ...

I can't believe I'm doing this... Posting on Space Battles.... I'd ask what is wrong with me, but I'm sure I'll have a nice list shortly *laugh* Anyway, here goes.... Let me know what you all think of it. There is more finished by the way, so major changes to the plot will likely be ignored. IceWing Wind of Apocalypse - The Gathering Storm (...

I know that quite a few of you on here like Robert Jordan's work and wanted to inform you all (in case you didn't know), that a new book has finally been published in his series. I got the book and so far have liked it enormously. Even though it has been written by Brandon Sanderson, he imitates Jordan's writing style really well...I have yet to notice any major differences so if you like the ...

Another good one from my folks. This is from their "network" - one of many that are operating in this country right now - people passing information and ideas around - like never before in our history - at the highest rate ever... Of course, if I or some other member wrote this here, we would be called a "keyboard comando" and ridiculed by some. This man is a Naval Aviator, Commander ...

This is the first of the final 3 volumes of the series that is being finished by Brandon Sanderson, working from extensive data left behind by the late Robert Jordan. I just finished reading it. While Mr. Sanderson says he has tried to avoid writing like Jordan (as he felt he could never do it justice), it still felt like A Wheel of Time book. In fact, it read like one of the best in the ...

Immensely. One of thte two times I teared up a little. I had just begun to think she was innocent, and Tomas, her warder, was Demandred. At the end I began to worry that the big reveal might be that Tam was Demandred all along. I was too excited to really worry, though. When Tam showed up to lead Perrin's men in Knife of Dreams, that was when I got all emotional; when he showed up in ...

If that's what it takes. There was some talk of naming them Memory Light: The Gathering Storm, Memory Light: Something else. But books sellers didn't like that. The main issue was there was no way for Sanderson to wrap things up with notes he was given and get the story told as it should be in one publishable book. But at least it's coming out fairly quickly. Brandon says he's about 70% ...

I finished last night. It was a well written book and as I have said before I was engaed from beginning to end on every page. Some big things happened that blew my socks off. I felt like Sanderson was able to channel Jordan very effectively - one could dig deep I am sure to find some differences but from a big picture kind of vantage point he nailed it. I for one will be checking out some of his ...

Towers of Midnight speculation: The title refers to one or all of these: 1. The Tower of Ghenjei, with Mat rescuing Moiraine (just about guaranteed) 2. The split in the Black Tower finally breaking fully open, with half the men declaring for Rand and the other half for Mazrim Taim (is going to happen sooner or later, next book seems like a good time to have it come to fruition)...

Sanderson is a pretty good Fantasy Author. I thought his Mistborn trilogy was well worth the read. Elantris, less so, but readable. I'm certain he'll wrap the WoT series up admirably. Oh, and incidentally, I'm another reader who gave up on WoT around book 7 or 8. Too much of the books about women bitching.

Here's the next bit... I've also been working on revising the outline for book two (Blood and Thunder) Chapter One Almost as one, the people on the bus pressed their faces against the windows, looking out over the chaos which had descended on them. People were scrambling out of their cars, or trying to at least, and attempting to run away from the horde of creatures ...
