We will bring the war in Afghanistan to a successful conclusion. For what side? Politicians are idiots and so afraid of losing votes that they can't even say they are going to attempt to win the war, and they also tell the enemy when they will leave. The Republicans were bad, but the Obama administration is taking incompetent to a new level. When Afghanistan falls so goes Pakistan and then India ...

Guys, Some of you are aware that I am Native American (Onondaga). My nation is a part of the Six Nations Confederacy (Mohawk, , Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, Tuscarora), or Haudenosaunee, which means “People of the Longhouse.” Giving thanks is a big part of our traditional culture and who we are. Whenever traditional Haudenosaunee gather, the Thanksgiving Address is recited...

A writer similar to Yerby and Slaughter wrote about a fictional county in Alabama (possibly Mississippi, but NOT 'The State of Jones' although it may have been based on the same historical incidents) which seceded from the confederacy. It has been as long as 35 or 40 years since I read it. The county lay in an isolated valley with defensible passes. Among the characters were a couple of ...

How much did federal goverments do for blacks between 1865 & 1960? Answer Hi Mitchel, The main advance for blacks took place right after the end of the Civil War in 1865. The 13th Amendment was ratified, ending slavery. Further, in most of the former Confederacy, the government was controlled by the Federal military. Most former Confederates were prevented from voting while slaves were...
