I've noticed some Google Ads with direct telephone numbers to sales departments. This negates the need for a surfer to click and so the publisher doesn't get paid but the advertiser makes additional sales. Is this allowed? If it is it should be banned. What do you think?

£10 in calls to numbers starting with 08 for a month, just to sort out normal house hold bills etc. That's it they can all have emails and letters now!!!!!! What a con!!!!

Telephone numbers on web pages are disappearing since upgrade to Windows 7 (i.e. version 8). For example, looking at the contacts page for OneBill telecom, http://www.onebilltelecom.com/Contact.aspx , the page loads and so do the telephone numbers, but then they disappear immediately. (I have screen shots of this if needed) I can see the page clearly and links on the page work OK 1 person ...

That link provided by Magda is two years old, so things could have changed since. Funny to see some posts there saying ads with phone numbers have high CTRs. Another saying that phone order outnumber online ones. I guess that could depend on type of product (physical vs downloadable). When I used to sell my software in both download and on CD-ROM, about 75% would buy the download ...

ooh yeah i heard about this, i was wtching the gadget show the other day or week and the old guy was talking about call centres and everything else. and he mentioned this site to avoid heavy bills on your phones and what not and shows alternate numbers that are free or even cheaper.
