Technics 1200 - Topic profile

Hi guys I've just picked up a stock technics 1200 mk11 with the original arm. Any suggestions on a cartridge would be greatly appreciated. Regards derockster

I am using an Ortofon 510 MkII with my tech 12. I have been trying to make the tonearm parallel with the tt while it plays a record. To do this i have to set the height almost at 0. Problem is, with the height this low with the cue up, the stylus is touching the record therfore making the cue totally useless. IS it really that important to have the tonearm parallel when playing a record?...casue...

when i look at my cartridge from the front while its on a record it seems to be slightly leaning to the right. The cartridge is also very wobbly during to first bit of the record. It plays fine and all but i have a feeling it could be bad for my stylus. Please help -stu
