Aircrew Buzz: Taxiway collision at Salt Lake City: Southwest Airlines B737 and FedEx DC-10 No one was hurt and damage wasn't severe. I wonder how many of these we can endure before Lloyd's of London drops us and we have to self ensure. That would be very expensive.

From the WSJ: "Two Delta Air Lines Inc. pilots who mistakenly landed a jetliner filled with 182 passengers on a taxiway at Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport last month are expected to avoid punishment, according to people familiar with the matter. The weather and visibility were both good on Oct. 19, when the Delta pilots mistakenly landed their widebody Boeing 767 jet on a ...

Delta 767 lands on taxiway in Atlanta "The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating how an international flight into Atlanta’s major airport landed on a taxiway instead of a runway early Monday. FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said Delta Flight 60, from Rio de Janeiro , Brazil, to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, was cleared to land about 6:05 a.m. ...

Goodness! Thankfully no injuries, but landing on a taxiway?! First of all, they don't even look the same. One is VERY wide. The other is extremely narrow (in comparison). They are lit differently (white lights vs. blue lights). And taxiways are not rated for the loads a landing aircraft imparts. The 767 is a large plane! And ATL is a very busy airport. FAA probes plane's landing on ...

Last Monday a 767 landed on an active taxiway instead of a the correct runway. VERY lucky this wasn't a major accident. Apparently both the localizer and the aproach lights were off. In addition there was a declared medical emergency on board. NTSB Press release: http://www.ntsb.gov/Pressrel/2009/091021b.html (I added bold) Quote: According...

Gruss

Hi Volker, I tried to add the FS10 log file that you requested by using the upload attachment feature, but it said that .log was not allowed as an extension. I tried changing the extension to .txt, but again it was not allowed. Finally, I tried copying and pasting the file into my reply, but it greatly exceeded the allowed length for posts. How can I send this file to you as requested? ...
