I'm just filling out the CT600 form for Corporation Tax but am wondering if this is correct. Basically we set up the LTD company in February 2008 but it's been a very very slow process getting the website up and running to the point where were still not actually trading so I can fill in the form but it will be ZERO across all form fields. Is that what I should do? Also, I'm a bit ...

Hi Can someone help please? I left UK on 10th May 2009 to take up a tax-free role in North Africa. For various reasons, this has not worked out very well (failure to be paid on time, other issues) so I want to return to UK. I take a small element in local currency each month upon which I pay tax locally. The rest is paid into a UK bank account. My question is, am I at risk of having to pay ...

Probably a silly question, but.... As Scarlet might not ship until Jan/Feb if I read the ASIC issue correctly, is there some way to buy it, or an option on it, in this tax year, in a fashion that it could be written off as 'Section 197' for tax year 2009? Who knows, I may not have income in this next year to write off? I'm sold on the dream, if I can just sign up!

Dear Bogleheads, Looks like I may get some tax return for 2009 tax year in March 2010. I already have a 401K program at work. Wondering if I can invest the tax returns through a regular IRA and/or Roth IRA? I would like to know which one (IRA or Roth or Taxable account) will be ideal for my situation. Thanks a lot

A price of $4.00 or better, will take the tax bite out of this. Do not think that is possible anytime soon, so the decision at a year end will be made by the actual fact of what reality is at that point in time. The clock is ticking, time will tell.

ESTATE TAX BILL STILL EXPECTED THIS YEAR While rumors that estate tax legislation would be on the House floor this week proved false, action on estate tax legislation is still expected before the end of the year. The current estate tax exemption is $3.5 million per person and the top rate is 45 percent. Estate taxes will be temporarily repealed for one year in 2010. When this happens, ...

At this point in the calender year, if you were to close by the end of December, you might be better off just filing for the credit in 2010 against your 2009 tax filing. Otherwise you will be required to amend your 2008 taxes and then wait for the refund. Chances are you would receive the tax credit more quickly if filed in 2010. The only reason you would not want to do this is if your income ...

I know there is a $1500 energy tax credit for your taxes this year. It's good on windows, attic insulation, etc - if certain guidelines are met. Do any of you Tax Guru's know if energy star Washers and Dryers are included?

Why can't the OP just do what I said in the first place and ask the tax office to issue a code? Its obvious the P45 was going to be out of date. Only HMRC can now issue a cumulative code with nil previous pay and tax.
