Some are, some are not. Luck of the draw which one you end up with. Taurus quality control has some issues. The bright side is they have good customer service and will fix the problem if you get one that they should have kept from leaving the factory.

Structural failures can occur in any gun. However, I have seen more failures in Taurus handguns than any other brand my students have brought to the range for qualification. I used to own a bunch of Taurus guns, both revolvers and pistols. Now, I have a few Taurus Revolvers that have been tested and work well. Most of my revolvers are S&W. I no longer own ANY Taurus pistols. I would not ...

I had no problem betting my life on Taurus pistol and revolvers. They are good. For example, IMHO Taurus Raging Bull in .44 Magnum is peerless. I find that Ruger GP100 is made better, but quality of Taurus guns is good enough.

Taurus guns are "ok" (definitely better than the pot metal junk on the market), but there are much better guns available.

Holly Batman, talk about reviving old threads.... I can honestly say that I think the Taurus is the most uderated gun. It is excellant in quality and will last for many many years. I have had a 22lr with 2" bbl for about 10-11 years now. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I has been very trust worthy. I've shot a buddy of mines Taurus 357 many many times. It shoots excellant. I dont think it...

Quote: alfack: They are both excellent weapons, as long as you steer clear of the clones by FN , Taurus etc.. Uh...FN IS the original manufacturer of the Hi Power. Browning Arms is just an importer of guns made by FN (Fabrique National).
