I ditched my cable because I use streaming netflix and torrent sites to download a lot of the TV shows my wife and I watch but need a good antenna to watch football. I just bought a RCA ANT1050 but I can't pick up NBC. All the stations are about 30 miles from me.

I installed the converter box with a top rated antenna on my TV last weekend. Guess what channels I got in? Al Jazeera 24 France a Skiing channel A Spanish channel NBC NBC Plus (which is a radar weather map and thats it). And thats it. No joke, we scanned the thing 4 times. No ABC/Fox/CBS/PBS. And I live under that huge public access TV antenna at Lee Hwy/Gallows. MY MIL...

I recently moved and decided to get satellite for the first time, only to discover the local channels aren't available in HD (I have a Panasonic Viera plasma TV). I was advised to get an antenna capable of receiving the digital signals for the local stations, as these supposedly also provide the HD feed from said stations. Well, they do........but the trouble is I'm only getting 2 stations - FOX...

Going satellite. Does that mean tripod mount or roof mount? What are you guys thinking of doing. I looked at the manual roof mount dish at Camping World a little over $300. I also have a tripod to mount a dish on, for the areas in which the signal is blocked by trees.

QUOTE (TBSS @ Nov 9 2009, 02:53 PM) I doubt very much that that is quad shield cable. It may have one layer of braid and that's about it. Proper quadshield has braid/foil/braid/foil around the insulator. It is also quite sturdy and won't bend into a tight radius like the stuff in the pic. Why do you need quad anyway? Lots of interference from electrical stuff? Oh yeah, where ...

I thought i saw some some bandpass filters mounted on that metal box in the attic. maybe for cable tv or filter junk out of the tv antenna. an RF amplifier. The dish appeared to have both c and ku lnbs...this is good assuming they work. The dish connected to your 4DTV receiver will get you subscription tv programming, slave a free to air box and you can get the unscrambled various feeds ...

I'm back from my trip to the barn and setting up the dish. First, I replaced the old wire on the OTA antenna with the RG-6 that I brought up for my satellite setup and did a scan on the TV and it found 7 channels - 4 ION and 3 PBS. Fortunately one of the PBS was Create! so I watched 'This Old House' and 'Hometime' most of the night. That's better than watching Babar on ION. The next day I set ...
