T5 engine - board messages report

!998 T5 engine in 1999 V70R?

Will it work? I know the 1999 has ETM, but could I swap all that over to the 1998 motor?

T5 engine into a T7 car

I've been offered a good T5 (Red DI) engine from a GM900 (might be a 9-3?) to put in my X plate 9-3 that ran the ends before I got it. Fairly good price wanted for the engine, but would it work? what would need to be swapped over. The other plan is to convert the car to a B204 engine block.

Thanks Paul, As I have a 9000 engine and I'd need to swap the heads anyway, I think I may as well go for the B204 option and be done with it. I've got a spare chain and pump so a new set of shells should see it through.

Sounds similar to my recent problem ( see my posting on 11/2/09) with my 2005 v50. Mine start sputtering at 75 mph, when I pulled over it read reduced engine performance and would barely idle and would not accelerate. Mine would not clear by restarting and was diagnosed as a broken wire in the wiring harness. Try to wiggle the harness while the car is running to recreate the problem. GOOD LUCK...

Well, I went at it again this weekend when I was changing the oil/filters. I was still unable to get a socket on the 15mm top bolt of the right hydraulic mount. Which parts do I need to disconnect/remove to get at this bolt? I was using a u-joint and extensions, but couldn't get that socket on! Any advice? On the plus side, I'm getting really good at disconnecting the other mounts. Thanks,...
