Hi, I just bught a MP4 player, primarily for playing music videos in mpeg2. If the file is recorded directly from DVB-S (satellite) and is edited by VideoReDo utility, all is ok. But files, which were recently AVI and are converted to mpeg2 by utilities such as Super or TMPGEnc do problems - sound is out of sync with picture. Several problems with movie maker. I am running Squeezebox Server Version: 7.4.1 - r28947 and the 7.5 SqueezePlay Beta. If I run them as single output they work fine, if I choose the Sync funktion "ON" then the SqueezePlay goes mute but seams to keep running normal. Just the sound output on the desktop stops. Anyone got the same problems?

Lots of posts here about sound sync when using HDMI cable to the TV, but optical to surround sound system. I found no delay if using TV speakers. Tried routing Audio Out on TV to receiver, problem solved! Except Audio out on the Samsung 650 plasma is RCA, not optical, so no surround sound. I have been having similar problems importing video from a Vivitar 840HDX camera (all formats, stored as AVI). My workaround was a bit crude but it allowed me to move forward without too much pain while waiting for a good solution. Here's what happened and what I did ... Ah I see, so I may have not seen or ran into that problem because I did it in one take.
