Hi This is PVK Raju and I would like to ask one clarification. Recently We have Checked one part Inner dia surface finish on that output results Ra is 0.60microns as against 0.80 microns. But surface finish graph output results most of the values are 1.0 to 1.5 microns but average or Ra value is 0.60microns only. Here My question is (our customer asking) graph output results ...

I have identical G48 Method A tests carried out by two different test labs. Test criteria were 24hr duration at 50C, no pitting allowed, and a maximum weight loss of 4g/sq.m. Test pieces were pickled and passivated before testing. The material in question is a nickel based casting alloy, in the solution annealed condition. Test lab A reported a final weight loss of 4.2g/sq.m, and found pitting...

I am trying to drill and/or bore a 20.58 hole radially on a live tooling lathe into 4140 prehard 32-40 Rc. Its a tight size tolerance of ±0.015mm with a micro of 1.6Ra. So far drill , reaming, or single point boring has failed. Anyone have a solution for this Micro other than second operation grinding? This is a high production job running from bar stock and the radial hole is through the part...

Hey, I know this is the software forum but I figured there are more wax cutters here than anywhere else. I use a 15degree, .005 carbide "profiler" to cut my wax. 30krpm spindle. .002 stepover. I run at 22 ipm. cuts great, no melting etc.. But my surface finish is pretty "grainy".. generally rough.. I use a toothbrush and some mild soap and water to clean up the loose fuzz, but there is...

Hi, I am looking for an industry standard for plastic part surface finishes, such as ASTM. Not having an extensive plastics background I was hoping you guys could help point me in the right direction. I appreciate any information that can be provided Thanks, Kyle

Any particular reason why the mid section castings (the bit you can see above the gearcase and the split plastic cowling) on V4's have a really porous looking finish to them?
