I am planning my 10 gallon sump and need to maximize the real estate in it. I want to plan things around the skimmer , but I'm not sure what to buy, so I wanted to ask for suggestions. I would like the skimmer to go up to maybe 90 gal so that if I get a bigger tank I can use the same skimmer, which I understand are expensive. Once i get the skimmer in-house, I can plan on where to put the...

So, I posted this in my Build thread but I figured I might get some responses in here also. I was planning on building a sump/refugium with a 30 gal tank i have at my house. But in order to use that I would have to buy a new stand and that is out of the question. So, I can only fit 2-10gallon tank in my stand. I took this to my LFS and they said it would work just fine this way..but i ...

Hey there, I have my XC on jack stands in the garage and am about to remove the oil pan and replace the oil sump o rings. THis will be my first time attempting this procedure, i printed out the procedure in the repair database for the 93 850. Do these steps all apply to the 01 XC as well? Or are their some differences. Any info or tips would be great. Curtis

I currently have a 35 gallon sump with an overflow box, and a Pm ES100 venturi skimmer for my 155. I have yet to set the entire thing up, and my tank is currently running on a canister. I recentally found a hang on skimmer that is rated for 180g, and has 515gph output. Would it be a large difference in setting up the entire sump with a skimmer rated for only 100g, or would it be better...

I still havent got round to buying all the dry sump lines and fittings. but, i have 2 options (sort of) 1) slightly cheaper with about 1/3rd of the ends as push-on and the rest will have the aeroquip ends. The push-on connectors will be on the actual tank itself and on the oil cooler and on the oil temp sender adapter thingy. I am running the lines through the car and they have to be steel ...

If i have a sump and i need some sort of mechanical filtration with some sort of filter pad or something, can i just get 2 filter socks and be done with it? i know they need to be rinsed every day but i think it will be worth it if thats all the filter pads i need and if it gets the job done like everyone says they do. I would get this. Pretty nifty, it comes with something to hold to the side ...

Im going to make a sump pretty soon, I was thinking about using 2 tanks insead of one so here goes. If I drill my top tank outlet with a 1 inch hole and T it off so one side of the t goes into a fuge tank and the other side of the t goes into the sump do you think it will work? I am going to drill the side of the fuge and have it flow into the sump. Im thinking that with a strong enough pump ...

I'm wondering how to adapt my new sump, a 20 gallon long, so that it contains mechanical filtration of some sort. I suppose filter floss is out of the question, as I have no means of mounting a tower (such as utilized on a wet/dry) atop a 20L tank. I've pondered a filter sock, but have no experience with them. Is there a convenient way to mount a filter sock on a simple descending piece ...
