I've got a '98 TJ with a 4.0L and I can hear what sounds like a growling noise coming from the oil sump area At first I thought that my cat. converter was coming apart insinde or was rattling on my skid plate, but upon inspection, it sounds like it's coming from the crankcase. Anyone ever had this issue? Thanks.

Well, for the 3rd time, my sump pump died. 1/2 HP China job from good ol' Home Depot. I got used to it dying so I have a backup pump ready to go, just in case. Good thing cause with all this snow and now rain, the pump is running every couple mins. The one that just died lasted for 4-1/2 years. I go to Home Depot tonight to replace my "backup" and come to find out the pumps are now $142....

Does any one know where I can find some planes to turn a 55 gal tank into a sump? I want to section it off , put in a filter sock, and room for my pumps / protein skimmer. I have 3200 gal of return pump , 800 gal phr pump for my chiller, phosphate reactor, octo 200 skimmer. Do I have to do this in glass or can I get away with plexiglass? It's for a 200 gal so I think it should be plenty. I'm ...

Ok, I just lost a sump (glass sump) due to what I think was acrylic expanding and cracking one of the sides of the tank. So I have decided to build another tank. I am using a 40 gal breeder as the tank and plan on purchasing glass dividers from a local glass shop. I want to put a refugium in this sump and wonder what the issues would be with drilling the partition that separates the refugium from...

Why is one sump pump feeder pipe out of two plugged? Is it because of stupidity**, or could there be a good reason? A friend has lived in her house 2 years. It's about 50 or 60 years old. It has a sump pump in the basement. The basement floor is about 5 or 6 feet below grade. (Did they use sumppumps 50 years ago?, or was it added?) There is some sort of clear plastic stuffed into...

Sump opinion???? I was wondering if you all think there is a certain order a sump should go... My problem is that I wanted to get a huge tank to build a sump with.... in actuality I was only able to fit a 20g High under my 90 gallon bowfront.... So I was planning on putting a second tank a bit higher like on top of the 20 gallon and it would...

Didn't get a response in the New Hobbist section, hoping someone here will know. I would like to attempt to make my own wet/dry filter for a 120 gallon tank. Does anyone have any recommendation what size dual overflow box and return pump I should purchase? I found a dual overflow rated at 1200gph and a ca3000 return pump but someone said that was not a good idea together. Any suggestions ...

What side is the dry sump oil tank on? I have a '10 GS convert....someone asked me where the oil tank was on the dry sump non converts manuals....and I thought it made sense they would put it on the passenger firewall side where my battery is... since they moved that to the trunk area in those cars......but I saw a picture of a GS with the hood up and thought I ...

We're just wrapping up this installation of a 3 stage ARE scavenge pump, pan, tank, and relocating the battery. The system uses the production pressure pump. We also added a remote supercharger oil drain to make changing the supercharger oil faster, easier, and cheaper. The car is a 2005 Corvette road race car with LS2 based 402 and D1SC ...

I have a 120 gal. Freshwater. It has 5 small angel fish in it. It used to be a saltwater tank. It is drilled with a sump that I converted to a trickle filter with 300 bio balls. I also added 30 lbs of aquarium gravel to the sump that the water is forced through ( i figured if under gravel filters worked this would be good - there is good filter fiber and a 50 micron pad to keep the bio balls and ...
