So Ava has had a high fever the past two days and I took her to the dr. today and it turns out she has strep throat. My poor sweetie has just been miserable, but hopefully the antibiotics will make her feel better quick. Anyways, just thought I'd share, it was nice to get on here and be distracted for a little while since I've been taking care of a sick baby for two days!

I think I may have strep. If I go to the doctor, are there meds that I need to stay away from? Do I need to stay away from LO and only give her pumped milk? I'm SO sad! I was doing so well getting my pumped output increased and now that I'm not feeling well it's starting to dwindle again! What can I do?

I diagnose kids with Scarlet Fever all the time. It is simply Strep-Throat, with a rash. It is not worse than strep-throat and it doesn't mean that it wasn't treated for a while, it just happens. The incidence of strep-throat in kids under 2 is VERY low, so I would try not to worry. I would just keep an eye on your LO for signs of a sore throat, fever or a red sandpaper like rash. ...
