Greetings, I'm trying to set up a new server with 2 x dual channel ethernet cards set to static IP addresses, however when I add the DHCP role using Server Manager it doesn't detect them. Any suggestions as to why it is not doing this? Cheers, John

When ever I try to set up a static IP adress in Windows 7 I get a message that says my DNS Servers do not match my router. I have a wrt54g2. I do it just as they show on PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall and everything seems right and the DNS servers on the comp seem right but I guess they aren't? Any help is appreciated. Need to get this static IP set promptly....

I have a Linksys WRT54G connected to a Speedstream 5100 (DSL modem provided by AT&T) and I need to have some port forwarded. However to forward ports, I need a static IP but I don't know where it should be set and what settings I should change. Any help? BTW Im running Linux.

Does any one know how to configure a static ip on ps3 ? I think making a Static IP Address could stop causing IP conflicts and solve the port forwarding problem. Any help or suggestions would be great.

I have everything working just fine apart from the trixbox. I can reach it using putty, I can reach the webadmin of the box via port 10000, but it will not respond when I try to hit port 8080 for the trixbox admin. when I ...

Greetings, I updated from Fedora 8 to Fedora 11 and I'm having trouble with my Static IP addresses. Network Manger seems ignore my Static IP address and assign a dynamic address. I unchecked controlled by Network Manger and my Static IP address now works. However every time I boot the network does not start, even though I checked activate and startup. I can press Activate and get the ...

HI We have a 3300 with 10 handsets, at the moment the 3300 is running DHCP but is on a seperate LAN to our domain. I want to move the phones onto the same network but the DHCP will clash with or DCs DHCP. Can I setup the phones to use a static IP address? "Anything that's invented between when you're fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary, and you can probably get a ...

Hello My domain is at a windows 2003 native mode and 2003 forest mode. I have an AD integrated DNS zone that allows for secure DNS updates only. If a server is configured with a static ip address and static DNS settings, then when the server registers its ip address and name in DNS, then who owns the record? also because DHCP was not used to supply the server with an ip and...
I installed WHS & PP3 last week to use with my Win7 laptop and Vista desktop (will upgrade to Win7 soon). WHS was set up with remote access turned off, and by default, was issued a DHCP IP address from my Linksys WRT54G router (running DD-WRT). All machines connected perfectly, and got backed up for several days. I had this great idea to turn on remote desktop, and somewhere had read that WHS ...

Hi, I am having difficulty setting a static IP on a mac mini for purposes of port forwarding. I thought I understood how it works, that I need to set my mac to an IP outside the range that the AEBS would assign, but when I do that I have no internet connection. Here are the settings in the AEBS I was trying: And the settings on my mac: What am I doing wrong? ...

Excelent. GUI dialog can be confusing, and easy to forget about DNS. As for typo, 99,9% it's just on the label. I am on CentOS 5.4, there's no typo here. Please mark this post SOLVED. See my signature for how to do it.

I don't think thats going to be an issue since he clearly stated he is using PPPoE, and then again some devices support Half Bridge mode, which can put the public IP on the router and the "modem" does not do nat that way, etc. Even thought a double nat will work most of the time, its not the preferred way to setup a connection - since there will be a performance hit, and somethings just ...

I move when I want to. The price for web hosting is less than the extra price for static IP. If you are looking at hosting something that is not allowed on current web hosts, good luck getting that done in the USA even it is on your parents connection. It would be best do host outside the USA if you think you will be hosting anything not kosher. Otherwise the poor decision is all ...
