Is there a way to completely disable standby mode for the set top box? I have two Tivos (two different STBs) and periodically, the FIOS set top box goes into standby mode causing the Tivo to record "Press Menu" message and completely miss the programs it was trying to record. I've done a fair amount of research on this board, Tivo groups, etc, and I haven't found an answer to this problem....

When I use Standby mode in windows XP, all is well, but when I (accidently) used it in Vista 32bit, something very odd happened. The PC seemed to shut down, but then started to SCREAM at me. I've had my BB for about 3 weeks now (my first ever) and for about the last week it has been putting itself into standby mode now & then and it's happening more & more often. I didn't even understand what the standby mode was really untill I just looked it up today on here. Hi, last night dm500c was working fine, its got dw 2.00 image sinces last few years did not have problame. when i i tried this mornig the box is stuck on green light.try remote control but it does not do anything like flashing the light nor button on box do anything. my qe is is my box died?any help would be great. thanks

My Dell 530 wont start after it goes into a standby mode. If I hit the spacebar to "wake it up" the light on the front of the tower is amber and the fan just runs. HP pavilion a1210n XP service sp3 Does not stay in standby mode for more than 1 minute. Removed batteries from mouse so it did not affect standbby mode.

I am not technical in nature and am at a loss. I cannot see my guide at all now. I can watch tv but no channels or program info is listed. The settop box says it's in standy mode. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in. That did not work. Any ideas? Thanks! Bonnie

So the title says it all. I removed a monitor from a Dell Demension 3000 running windows XP. I tried to plug it into my new system i built and thought it was my system. But after pressing a button on the screen is just says standby mode, press any key on keyboard or mouse to resume or whatevers However, when i do press nothing works. First of all, if your STB is going into standby mode all by itself, there is a problem with the box and you should contact tech support, the box should never do that by itself. Instead, a normally operating STB goes into what is now called "standby" whenever you turn it off.
