Do you think that these test improve education? Do you think that SAT/ACT should be required for admittance into colleges and universities? Are there better ways to test how prepared a student is for college. Should the SATs/ACT really have that much of a emphasis on it.

Ok, one school that I am applying to (NYU) has a different standardized test score procedure, and so I have quite a dilemma. Here it goes (and thanks for your help). Noah (9) 3rd grade level got a 99. Nathaniel (11) 5th grade got a 91. I finshed up our school year late due to the lost time with Alise being so sick last year and the miscarriage and everything. Our teacher said that we will be taking a standardized final exam that is all multiple choice, purely conceptual. It's from motion in one direction, projectile motion, newton's laws, uniform circular motion and things like that. Does anyone know where I can find a practice version of a test like this?

Try Halliday Resnick if you can find at your library (or any other book that is used for first year uni. physics courses). Solve all the hard exercise questions. Solving only MC questions will not help a lot.

If your ACT is not significantly higher than your SAT, then you probably won't get in. however, just because a school is a reach doesn't mean that you shouldn't apply
