Does anyone have experience using extension tubes with lenses that have image stabilization. I'm thinking specifically here of the Kenko tubes that allow auto-focusing. Is the IS of any benefit in that situation, ie taking "macro" images? The new Canon 100mm macro L IS lens is undoubtedly a dandy, but having just dropped a bundle switching from Pentax to Canon I don't feel comfortable ...

I have a slight hand/arm tremor at times. With a F1.7 40mm equivalent lens it has not been a problem and so I would guess the absence of image stabilization with the GRD III and it's fast wide angle lens it wouldn't be a problem. Similarly the S10 builds it in, probably in part because of the slower lens. Although I'm on the verge of ordering the GXR/A12 I have a niggling concern that with a ...

I'm shopping for a DSLR. Image stabilization is the first thing I need to think about since I have a tremor. Nothing else about a camera would make much sense if I don't consider this first. So, I've read that in-body IS is superior to lens (especially if consideration of use of old lenses). True? I've also read that only Pentax and Sony have this. True? I'm coming down to the Pentax k-x. So...

Hi, Could someone explain what 'Oxyacid Resonance Stabilization' refers to? I'm looking at a comparison between sulfurous acid and sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid has more oxygens, and so the electron density is attracted further away from the hydrogen (when compared to the 3 oxygen of sulfurous acid)...which means sulfuric acid is a stronger acid. I'm not seeing the connection between what ...

Hey all, In the past 2 days i've been trying to find a method to stabilize my video. It's been filmed by my friend, with pretty shaky camera, so I want to get the video stabilized. Anyhow, after searching and trying many methods, it seems like nothing works! I tried plugins such as deshaker, and SteadyMove Pro. It seems like everyone over the web manages to get ...

I just received my new Sigma 18-250 mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM, which (assuming I keep it) will supersede my Sigma 18-200 mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS for use on my Canon EOS 40D. It is quite clear from the sounds and behavior that the optical stabilization system in the 18-250 is wholly different from that in the 18-200 OS. I don't yet have on opinion as to whether its actual stabilization performance is ...

Looking at digital camcorders. Need something relatively inexpensive. Image stabilization I would think is needed. Flash memory recordable would be good, too. Haven't kept up with these in some time, so hoping for some recommendations. JohnG

Hi guys! Before Xmas I am looking to buy my first camcorder. I am stuck between 2 models. The Sanyo FH1 can be had for 52% of the price of the Sony CX500/505 here. So it is just about half price, but it does not have the awesome stabilization or the 32GB of memory that the Sony has. I was thinking that the Sanyo would be a good getting-started camcorder at this price ...
