Let's say someone is changing web hosts. He normally uses SquirrelMail to read and manage mail, and has many emails stored in folders. When moving to a new web host, how does he bring all that mail with him? Vito

We've been using squirrelmail connecting through Dovecot's Imap and Pop3 servers since then to provide either SSH or TLS/SSL connections to postfix mail via squirrelmail on our server. Although the SSL capability is installed, we're really not using it -- choosing to use SSH with ...

I wanted to block a specific user from using squirrelmail. I don't want him to check mails using his squirrelmail, but he always has the POP3 access from just our official network. Any way ?

I'm getting complaints from people using suirrelmail that they can not open pdf docs through the suirrelmail interface. Anyone know a fix for this? Note: it lists the attachment and if you save it to the hard drive it will open. Thanks Tim

First check if you have already installed one of the most common imap servers for linux (dovecot, cyrus, courier) and all you need to do is just to start it. Or else use your package manager to install it. Then you have to configure squirrelmail to use that particular imap server. Regards

My IMAP mail account has two trash mailboxes, it seems. On the IMAP server there only is a "Deleted Messages" mailbox. But Mail.app shows both "Trash" and "Deleted Messages". With squirrelmail, there is just "Deleted Messages" which also behaves properly. Mail.app however will delete messages, but they do neither end up in "Deleted Messages" nor in Trash. They just disappear. ...

Vito, have a look at http://squirrelmail.org/docs/admin/admin-11.html It gives you a detail step by step method of moving mails and address book. Let us know if this works as I have never done this in the past and would like to know if you run into any problems.
