I'm in the process of giving my bike a nice and thorough cleaning and am working my way towards the front sprocket. I rmoved my sprocket cover and want to give that area a nice and thorough cleaning to get rid of the road grime, lube, etc. that gets built up in that area. On my last bike (2001 R1) I would just take the sprocket cover off and out a catch pan below the bike and spray the ...

i've searched many forums and sites but i cant find the exact size for the idler sprocket bolt. i acidently stripped the threads from the head and im going to heli coil it but i dont know the size for it. all i know is its a metric bolt size 12 but by what? i tried a M12 X 1.75 from napa and the bolt will get stuck in the heli coil about 1/4 way through. so im guessing its either a M12 X 1.50 ...

So I've gone and stripped a torx bolt on the exhaust camshaft sprocket. That will be fun to take off. So now I am doing a search for a replacement bolt. I know if you strip a bolt, you can replace it with a simple hex but since this bolt is on a spinning part, would changing the type of bolt have any effect on the sprockets movement and the timing? If so, where ...

GSXR 600 K3 OK trying to remove front sprocket. need help! Basically theres the nut that holds the sprocket, a speed sensor rotor and an allen bold that holds the rotor on. The allen bolt had rounded off so I took to the angle grinder. The speed rotor has almost dissappeared and thankfully I managed to get the hole of the allan bolt off. The nut is fine and I'm trying as...

Hey guys. Im aware what im doing is either stupid or will ruin my fuel economy/increase my revs quicker but im putting a 45 tooth rear sprocket on my GS500. Mainly as i want the acceleration, also I do a little stunting, so would like to wheelie a bit easier than the 41 ive got. I reckon top speed to be about 90-95, which is fine, as im only ever sitting at 70. Question is......

Remove all Advertisements I just put a new chain and sprockets on my bike this past weekend and I noticed that my front sprocket slides pretty easily on the splines of the output shaft. When I have the lock-ring in place, I can jiggle the sprocket about 1/16" or so on the sprocket from side to side. My original sprocket was tight enough on the ...

Hey Guys, Just picked up a 510sp, for kinda sentimental reasons. I'm (sorta) new to things in the chainsaw realm, so bear with me. I know there has been a lotta discussion on the subject, so I'm kinda looking for information as well as a recommendation on what combo I should be using on this particular saw. I'm not sure what came stock with the saw, except that its currently running a...
