2004-production Springfield Armory Socom 16 with approximately 500 rounds fired. Absolutely no issues/marks/damage, etc. TRW USGI internals, Springfield bolt and barrel. 100% reliable with even cheap mags. I would much prefer to trade, #1 choice being a Springfield Armory Scout Squad or Bush model with the 18" barrel. Will also consider other M1A's (Full size, Loaded, NM, etc) $...

SO i recently upgraded my GI with a new hammer, grip safety and trigger. everything went smoothly aside from sanding the trigger and grip safety for a perfect fit. How can I refinish the grip safety so that the bare metal doesn't show? Is there a bluing kit available? Although i've only dry fired it, I cant believe the improvement in trigger pull!!! with just a few parts.

So, a week before school started I put together a massive shooting trip with some buddies. Somehow, during the shooting, the sear pin on my SA Operator snapped in half. First, let me just say this........discovering the sear pin snapped is NOT comforting. Luckily they machine the things with some friction so it did not fall out during the course of fire. This could have been very dangerous. ...

I have both the full size and 4" and actually like the 4" better. Both are parkerized G.I. models. The 4" will not lock back on Chip McCormick mag but feeds and ejects fine. I use the factory mags, surplus military, and the CM. Both function great with 230 grain ball and Winchester Silvertips. Haven't tried other HPs.

I have contemplated them over the years, it just seems like a decent stowaway/backpack gun. I looked at the Rossi Youth in .22/20/.243, but having to take down to use the other barrels loses the functionality of just quick need. Wrap some 550 paracord on the barrels for a make shift grip, and make a paracord sling? You're set!
