I'm building a rockwell full tube buggy and am going to run coilovers on it. I was wondering if anyone had a rough estimate on the spring rate i need? It will dual rate 2.0's. It has a small block chevy motor and 127 inch wheelbase. Both are steering axles with 44 swampers. The shocks are F.O.A remote's if that matters.

Can anyone help me identify this spring and its estimated spring rate? Here is my rear spring --I didnt install. It has 7 leafs, but you'll notice there is a small one under the bottom largest one that makes 7. I havent seen one like that. Without that short bottom, there are 6, which I havent seen either. Thanks....

Remove all Advertisements I've wanted to do this for ever, and finally came across a clean reasonably priced set of 2000 RM250 USD forks. I'll be putting these on my son's bike as kind of a surprise/christmas idea.........he's 205 Lbs and we mostly ride off road, but with a little street SM mixed in. How do you determine the proper spring weight? Do ...

Remove all Advertisements I have a 2005 wr250f with stock forks. It bottoms out way to easy. I check with race tech web sight and it said for my weight (185) the stock 0.43 springs were correct. The forks bottom way too easy, so do I need to use 0.44 or 0.46 springs. How much difference are the two spring rates, I mean are the 0.46 a lot stiffer.

Keep in mind that slight increments make significant differences in feel and performance. ALso, what isn't often mentioned is that the sway bar wall thickness makes a diffenece, as well as the material the bar is made of. So two bars with identical outside diameters may be very different in the way they perform if they are made of different steel alloys and have different wall ...

0.1 kg is probably less than most mfg tolerances anyway. You might end up with a 4.9 or 5.2 depending on the quality of the spring and how it's measured. Most shops measure the spring rate after only an inch or two of compression. That doesn't even get the spring past the point where the end affects (grinding/bending the spring to sit flat) influence the spring rate. You need to compress ...
