After being a Braves fan since the late 70's I have decided to go to my first Spring Training trip. Was wondering if anyone could suggest where to stay and where to go after the games are over. Dont really know what to expect so any suggestions would be appreciated

Dose anyone know when the actual start of spring training is? I know the first games are the first week of March, but when does training actually begin? We're planning a trip down to Arizona in late February and hope to see some stuff before the actual games start.

We are planning a trip to see some Yankee spring training games in early March. Can you recommend a hotel that is convenient to the stadium, near a little nightlife, shopping, and some decent restaurants? A hotel that has a microwave/fridge in their rooms would be a bonus but not an absolute necessity. I'd like to stay below $125/night if at all possible. We're planning on renting a car...

Mauer will end contract extension negotiations once spring training starts. Halladay will not approve a trade after he reports to spring training. Not surprising news, but I am glad to know this Halladay to the Sox or Yankees isn't going to go on forever. I'm a heartless man at worst, babe And a helpless one at best.

There is a Holiday Inn Express (4750 N. Dale Mabry) and a Comfort Inn (4732 N. Dale Mabry Hwy). These two places are close to the stadium, but there is not any shopping to speak of nearby, you would need to drive. Of course, previously mentioned Radisson is a much nicer hotel that is at a very nice mall with plenty of shopping and restuarants.
