jack up truck, support by frame...take wheels off, jack up lower control arm to compress the spring a little, undo whole spindle assembly removing only the ball joints and tie rod end...put spindle aside...with jack under control arm SLOWLY lower the jack and let spring fall out (mine stayed in there i had to pry it out), then put new one in and go backwards...

From the pics provided, it appears that this subframe has provisions for a second arm, sort of a halfway point between a wishbone style and our radius rod set up. See the rod end not connected at the bottom of the spindle and the extra mounting holes in front of the single lower arm?

Most common front-end rattle I've had is the ball-socket joint at the front end of the caster rod right near the headlight. It's not under much load normally, so can slop around when it gets loose. Tends to clunk over bumps and on braking when the spindle torques forward. Andrew

I had a very annoying and embarrassing grinding/clicking noise coming from the rear right . I removed and reinstalled brake pads also. Finally I found out it was the axle. The spindle end of the axle needed to be cleaned and re lubed. The noise went away . What a relief. There is a nissan bulletin for the rear. Could be a similar story in the front for you. Good luck.

You didnt do anything wrong... Where the tie rods connect on the spindle is shorter on the late models than on the fox spindles. Just back off the jam nut on the tie rod end, spin the tie rod out with a wrench on both sides till its pretty close to in alignment. Then carry it up and have it aligned properly. If your gonna lower it, invest in some caster/camber plates for it.
