The 1982 Porsche 911 SC has an Electrical Speedometer just like the one in my 1976 911s. That is what I hate , it even works the same way so that I have to thump it sometimes to get it to read MPH. I was OK with that until today when the Odometer and Tripodometer BOTH Stopped working. Anyone know what I need to do or where I can send this to get it fixed?

I live in Minnesota and have some cold weather right now (November). The other day, I drove home during lunch and the speedometer operated fine. On the way back to work, I noticed that the speedometer didn't have nice fluid movement. If I increased speed by 5 MPH, the needle would increase by 5 jumps, each at 1 MPH increments. If I decelerated, the needle would drop in increments of 1 MPH....

I'm looking to do something custom with my gauges but I was wondering if any one knew if the gauges in a 03 Z66 have a cable driven speedometer or a electronic speed sensor?

Hey guys, I've had a strange thing occur, albeit only twice now. If I do a hard launch with DSC switched-off, the speedometer almost seems like it gets stuck and then slowly catches-up to show the actual speed of the car. Almost like it's "slow". Is this a sign of impending Cluster doom or the DSC controller box? EDIT: I tried to do a search, but found nothing conclusive. I...

Since I am looking to change out the tire sizes on my 09, I am considering getting a programmer so I don't have to keep paying the dealer to do it (winter tires smaller than summer). Having problems getting speedometer to work. Replaced cable, replaced gear at end of cable. Speedometer seems to work because I could spin it with a drill. Has anybody else had a similar problem. Could the problem be in the transmission where the speedometer hooks to. The original gear was stripped (white gear).Replaced with (red gear) from Latemodel Restoration. Seeing that I cruise on the highway at about the limit of the stock speedometer on my T-Bird, I was wanting to upgrade the speedometer. I can't find any speedometers that are specifically for my 1988 T-Bird so was wondering if the Mustang speedometers would fit and work in my car if they are from roughly the same year? I have a 1988 Chevy 700r4 trans pulled from a truck that I have installed in my project hotrod. I had a TH350 with a mechanical speedometer before. I would like to reuse my mechanical speedometer. Is there a way to change the speedometer fitting on the trans from electrical tp mechanical? Thanks for your advice.
