Ideally, I would like to work with younger children. My problem lies in how to get to get the relevant experience and still earn enough money to support my ...

I am thinking of relocating to Fairfax County because i have heard about the great education for Autism there. People have made mention of Applied behavioral analysis being incorporated into the public school education for autistic kids. Is this really true? My son is 8, currently in 3rd grade, diagnosed with autism (he is verbal), and mainstreamed at present. How good are FCPS as far as ...

I will be graduating with my Masters in Special Education this summer. My husband and I are willing to relocate to get a job. We have looked at Texas, because my husbands family lives near Dallas, but we are hearing about a lot of difficulty finding positions in the area. We are interested to find out in what areas of the country may be good areas to look for special education jobs (...

We have young children and living in a nice neighborhood with good schools will be a priority. We also would like to purchase a home for around $200,000. Houston is a very a large city, ...

I'm getting certified in education of the blind and visually impaired (I'm already certified in deaf education) so I am wondering if Katy ISD has a good special ed department, can any parents here advise on this? I may apply next year or so when I pass all exams. Thanks.

Edited on Sun Jan-03-10 12:38 PM by tonysam who may have fewer kids to work with than a regular classroom teacher, though this isn't always the case with life skills teachers, for example, who may have as many 20 kids in their classroom. For example, a special education teacher may work exclusively with autistic kids--true autistics, not Asperger's--which may number five or six kids, ...
