Hi, would it be reasonable to hire a car in Christchurch without pre booking accommodation and travel throughout the South Island , just taking accommodation as it comes? In January would there be plenty of open hotels with plenty of vacancies enough so that we shouldn't worry about having no place to stay? Thanks.
