Old computer crashed and had to purchase new one. Had all photo files from the old pc copied to a cd/rw disk for transfer to the new pc. The new pc cd/rw drive will read and copy half the files on the disk, but the other half keep coming up "can't read from source file or disk". The op drive shuts down and no longer reads disk when I get to these files. Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you...

Might be of some help: this is the FAQ in the Pr Pro-Wiki on Corrupt Projects . Also, check for a recent AutoSave (in the AutoSave sub-folder of your Project). Save and Copy all media right to the ext. drive. then plug that drive into another computer with the same or newer version of Vegas and it will open. Danny

No, the permission havse to be set on a folder with the boot.wim file. I have a \\server\packages$ folder and inside it another folder with the boot file. After I gave the full control to SYSTEM account on the root folder, the problem has been resolved. Don't know what can you do if you have \\server\sms_sitecode share :( Can you make another folder, share it and create the boot image there?...
