I am thinking of making a room ready to be a studio. But I am concerned with the noise it would be generating. What soundproof solutions are available? What solution/s are you using? TIA!

I want to take about 10 x 12 of my garage and build a soundproof room where i can play my drums. my garage is a double and is insulated with about 80% drywalled and the ceiling height is about 15 feet high. I would like to use 2 existing walls of the garage that are the interrior house walls and build 2 new walls and a 8 or 9 foot ceiling. The concrete foundation goes about 3 feet up from the...

Hi All I have ordered a Vox Heritage 15 watt amp for use in the bedroom however,I wondered if it was possible to make some sort of soundproof box to put it in so not to annoy the neighbours if it gets a bit loud. I know you can buy such things but the price is horrendous. Thanks Alan

New commercial space. New 12 ft ceiling echo. Anyone who has any experience with needing to soundproof an echo-y space, I'd love suggestions, other than "put acoustic foam all over" I have a small sofa, chairs, and a large standing paper lamp. I plan on getting an area rug and rolling racks with clothing into said space. But I would like to use this studio as a trysting spot without ...

I have to admit I was surprised! I figured it'd be like the computer section or the appliance section or whatever, but it had it's own little room, and it had nice gear, and it had pseudo soundproof rooms you could go to and crank whatever you wanted! I only picked a couple basses off the wall and they were in tune and set up pretty well. A little smudged up, but when you have 400 people a...

As an alternative to soundproofing an entire room I decided to route all my instruments through ProTools/Cubase BEFORE they reach the AMP (using a Delta 1010 sold locally at JB). So I never have to worry about sound while recording. There are benefits AND negatives of this. One big negative being you lose the harmonics you get when using live mic'd amps with your lead guitars. If you ...

Don't spray the ceiling with anything until you check with the local health department. When I bought my place the ceilings had a thick coating to help stop sound from traveling. The health dept made us remove it from the areas over the bar and from the room that holds our ice machine. They wanted smooth ceilings in any food (or ice) handling area.

I'd have someone put stud walls up over the lot, insulate with fiber glass batting and install drywall. All that brick looks like my unfinished basement once did!

This material looks like a very compact cotton from the youtube vid... But it doesn't come with any adhesive surface, nor it looks like butlyn where you can heat up and stick... I would really like to know how the acc. shop is going to apply it to your doors. If you plan to go for it, hope you can snap some photos and share. Thanks in advance.
