Ever since installing my X-Fi SoundBlaster Pro (worked prior to issue) new mobo (X58-UD3R), 6GB RAM, and i7-920, the soundcard won't even register in Windows 7. I currently have my 5.1 speakers plugged directly into the mobo, my headphones connected to the front of my PC, my X-Fi soundcard inserted, and the "Sound" options in Windows only registers two playback devices: both "Realtek High ...

Hello, I've purchased a Dell Inspiron 1545 a few months ago and I have Windows 7. I've grown tired of the windows-installed drivers, so I figured I'd get the Soundblaster X-Fi software. Since I obviously had to reformat to install Windows 7 (didn't do upgrade,) I also lost the installation of the X-Fi MB software. Looking everywhere for the DVD, and I conclude that I didn't actually get one ...

Hi guys, Up until now I've been using a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS internal sound card for music production and am now upgrading. The Fast Track Pro was recommended to me however I am unsure as to whether this would be a worthwhile improvement over my current card? I will be using it for music production and recording DJ mixes, with good sound quality being the main thing I'm looking for as ...

Got a somewhat stoopid question. Will a Soundblaster X-fi Notebook Audio Card improve sound quality through a laptop's built in speakers, or only if you are using an external set of speakers? Thanks, -myk

Hello all, I installed a SoundBlaster 5.1 VX sound card into my system: A Fujitsu-Siemens Celsius M430, 3.4 GHz Intel processor, 2GB of RAM and a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate (retail version). I initially tried to use the drivers provided on the product CD, which during installation gave me a bluescreen. After reboot, I downloaded the latest drivers for Windows 7 from the CLE ...

I have two sound cards, both compatible with Sonar 8 Producer, but I'm not sure which to use with it - my SoundBlaster Live 5.1 SB0220 PCI, or my Hercules DJ Console MKII. The former supports WDM, the latter WDM and ASIO. I have only used the Hercules with Sonar so far and, while listening back to my live instruments, there is a huge lag (latency?), which is very offputting when I'm trying to ...

I hope this is the right area to ask this and I hope someone has an answer for me... but since my specific X-Fi card doesn't have outputs for front-header (uses proprietary crap)... i can't use the front headers/plugs as of now. here is my dilemma -- i MUCH prefer the audio of the Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, and hate the on-board for what I do... which is standard everyday music ...

If you're looking for manageable hardware FM for recording purposes (not live, though you can do live if you've the will power), you should buy an older computer with a Soundblaster Pro, featuring Yamaha's OPL3 chip, which is somewhere between an FB01 and TX81Z. 2 and 4 OP synthesis with AM capability, 8 waveforms for all OPs and ability to mix them. 18 channels available for 2 OP FM in stereo ...

I'm going to be making some fantasy animations, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get and organize some sound 'effects' like doors closing, footsteps, sword clanks, wind blowing, etc. I came across SoundFonts the other day but I think the program involved was specifically for SoundBlaster cards. Does anyone know if SoundFonts offers the fantasy related sounds I'm looking for? ...
