Sound Forge - Topic profile

I just upgraded from Sony's SoundForge 7 up to 9 'cos I may record in 5.1 surround one day. I thought my existing 'M-Audio Audiophile 24/96' SoundCard only had 2 analogue & 2 digital OUTs & according to the audio preferences tab, on Sony's SF9, it does BUT I also believed it only had 2 analogue & 2 digital INs -which, again, SF9 seems to show these but there is ALSO mention of 2 MIXER ...

Hey guys! Im currently in the middle of a project with Sony Vegas Pro 8. The format i am using is the sony AVCHD (.m2ts) The problem I am having is I would like to edit the 5.1 audio on the file using sound forge audio studio 9.0 to remove some unwanted talking but every time I try the "open in sound forge" option in vegas sound forge tells me .m2ts is an unsupported format. I just got Sound Forge 9 tonight. The mastering bundle wasn't quite what I expected... it's 4 free standing efx rather than the all in one Ozone format... it's not a big deal but it seems like it would be more fun to tweak all the settings in the one stop gui. I had heard that this efx bundle only worked with Sound Forge but I had never heard it wasn't just like Ozone. oh well....

A user of Audacity for awhile now and ran across Sony's sound forge at a local retailers. How easy to use or ability to remove pops and clicks from vinyl ect..... Sony will let you download a trial version , but before doing this just wanted to see if anyone else used both and what they thought was the better one.... Barney

I'm a long time Cool Edit/Audition user. I finally purchased a Sound Forge license. I have v9 on the way. What's the install routine for Sound Forge? Can I use it on two personal computers? e.g. DAW and laptop? thanks, mike

i recently got a new laptop(dell -vista basic)...i reinstalled sound forge and i can not record sound from internet....i went to manage sounds and i only have 1....microphone/headphone.....on my old comp i had alot more....line in is the one i need most...how can i get that on my new comp? is there a driver i can download and from where? please help

I want to be able to put all my tracks into one window. Similar to the way Acid lets you line them up, and arrange them, and listen to the whole compilation on your screen at once. I have the .pdf operator manual but I can't find anything about this searching it. Help please.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place but I recently found this free iZotope Vinyl Sound Forge compatible plugin (see above) which emulates the sound of not-so-well cared for vinyl LP's. You can even remove the screws on the front panel to see what makes this thing work... LOL! It's great for those who have not yet acquired a turntable and want to hear how vinyl sounded in decades gone by on...

I expect the extra inputs are the monitor mix. This carries the output of the cards monitor mixer controls found in the drivers Delta panel. Some find this input very useful for recording the output of another audio program running in the same machine. It does not represent any extra physical inputs on the card. Jim
