How is everyone jetting their single solex for a 1641 TP? or are you all just using standard jets? Very interested in how to get the best out of this set up. i am running a SVAD dizzy, points and condensor. having a carb rebuilt by Lawrie Ellis that should return soon and was wondering if i should call him about jetting. Cheers all!

Pair of Solex H40/44EIS carbs with linkage and EMPI twinport manifolds Yes proper Kadrons not the overpriced empi ones which they now make. These are jetted for a 1641cc flat four. Instant bolt on power for £225 ovno + £25 p+p (these will be signed for and well wrapped) these came of my sons 1641 twin port we are in the Gloucester area

I have a set of solex carbs and a euro intake for sale. The carbs came off of my Alfetta and were working well at that time. I put a gasket set on them because of a leaky fuel issue and drove for at least a year. I switched them for a set of Webers because I just like the Webers better. $400.00 for both intake and carbs. Hi, My nephew just bought a '74 that has a solex progresssive carb on it. It had water in the gas and the insides look bad inside the carb so I am looking to rebuild it and need a kit to do it. Also a good source for the settings would be great. Thanks Rob

I recently bought a stock Savanna Beige 1969 Beetle which belonged to an elderly couple. The little bug had been sitting in a back yard in Southern CA since 1991. I am the second owner. I replaced the muffler, battery, tires, bumpers, brake shoes, brake hoses, front wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, turn signal switch, and fixed the horn wiring. I replaced corroded fuses (and cleaned their ...

I agree that you should rule out the easy fixes before giving up on the carb. I had throttle bushing replaced in my PICT30-2 for $25 dollars. I thin took the carb fully apart and soaked it in carb cleaner overnight and the carb works like new. It passed emissions easily also. Here's a pic-

Has anyone removed the inlet manifold of a GS motor only to find that the base of the aluminium casting is eaten through with corrosion? This is the case with my 1972 GS 1220. It has the Solex CIC series carburettor. I would appreciate it if someone could put me in touch with a good one. I have a manifold complete with Weber carburettor that is in good order. It is different! However I wish to ...

Mine was a Ford Anglia 105E, solex downdraught, which had the ultimate flat spot during acceleration. I right heap of s**t but it WAS my first car... It`s name was `You B**tard` because it was always going wrong......

Just purchased a set of Twin Weber 34 ICT's to replace a worn out Solex 34pict. The engine is a 1600cc AD. I've fitted the carbs but the car suffers terrible mis-firing when pulling away and the carbs are 'popping' back through the air filters. Is this issue due to the mixture settings? I'm running a std vac advance dizzy (not 009), the timing is set at 7.5 tdc, there is a new condensor and set ...

Quote: Alleen dan is hij niet meer origineel. en dat is nou juist mijn punt van kritiek... weber is idd een stuk eenvoudiger... maarja... ik vind dat hij ook met een solex goed moed kunnen lopen... and i love original.... hahha
