Hi folks I have a 6th form student who is designing outdoor lighting. We want to get it working and have taken apart an old garden path light to check out the circuit. These use a solar panel to charge up a nicad battery and an LDR to switch on the LED when it gets dark. Unfortunately, the circuit is incomplete. Has anyone got a circuit diagram which they could send to help? I ...

Brand new portable GoBe solar panel and battery hub. Great for emergencies when electricity is not available, or for camping. The solar panel folds up like a briefcase. The battery hub stores electricity collected by the solar panel, or from an ordinary electrical outlet. Now we know where the $120M from the recent stock issuance will go. It's a great move to assist securing US sales through the NAFTA agreement, even if it isn't actually build in the US. I'd rank CSI up with STP and FSLR now as a potential leading US supplier, and ahead of TSL despite their slow start. (As I've learned, sometimes being first to market isn't all its cracked up to be.) I'd be an ...

Do buyers see a solar panel system as a positive or negative aspect of a home? I have had interest in installing one due to all of the government incentives, but am unsure whether or not future buyers would think it's a plus or not. Any thoughts?

From a strictly dollars and cents perspective I doubt it for you. Portland is pretty far north (which limits the daylight hours when the system will be functioning, particularly in the winter) and doesn't have the number of bright sunny days that Texas, New Mexico, Nevada etc have--both which combine to limit the electrons your panels will produce. if you looked at the amount you would save in ...
