I use facebook occasionally just to say Happy Birthday to distant relatives and not so close aquaintences. I also play a few games on there. I tried twitter but couldn't see the point of it: "I'm sat at my desk", "I'm in the lift, think I might have fish for tea", "Just popping out for a newspaper" etc etc
