Does anyone know where to purchase a replacement key at a reasonable price? Dealer keys run $250 - $300 after the purchase, key cut and reprogramming. As a noob, i'm a little skeptical of the uncut smart key remotes that can be purchased on Ebay for $30-$40. (and I'm guessing the dealer would not be excited about cutting the key and programming it, etc.) Can someone enlighten me on this...

My grandmother has a 2005 white Lexus LS and she recently went to the dealership and had work done and they somehow deactivated the smart key. Now the key won't auto unlock and auto crank with the button. How do you reactivate this? Thanks

I purchased a 2005 Key Fob and tried to get it programmed and it doesn't work. the dealer told be that he has had a lot of problems with online key fobs and not being able to program them. I'm not sure if its because its not a master key and is a valet key or what. I thought I was purchasing a master key, but that's a different issue.

I just went to my dealer in San Jose to try and get a new Smart Key for my '06 CLS55, and was informed by the parts department that they no longer have the chrome-style ones available, only the black-plastic ones (which is what originally came with the car). This was a total surprise to me, and the first I'd heard of such news... has anybody else experienced this? I'm ...

Beware buying Prius Smart Keys. There is a counter in the keyfob that increments each time it is used. The security computer in the car tracks that counter amount, and will not accept any counter value less than the last one it saw. The security computer is designed to only accept new fobs with a very low counter value, such as would be found with a new one. Once that counter exceeds ...

The key word is "DEVIOUS"...MD is a smart man I just don't think he is Devious...if he were, your money would be in the Caymun Isands and MD would be long gone.

Rickthepick wrote: id like to see the innards of this lock Based on the limited information on the Schlage site, it looks like it's this design: US 2008/0314106 A1: Programmable Lock Cylinder Assembly It's not the same as seeing some pictures of a stripped-down cylinder, but the patent drawings are actually pretty good.

Thanks, fellas. My vehicle does not use a smart key, just a regular one. I was actually hoping to replace the one I lost with an original Nissan key cut by computer, so I would not have to go through the rigamarole of bringing a key to Depot or a hardware store and having them bugger it up 3 times before giving me one that works... But, I guess I can live without another key for the time being...

i have a guy i met at my dealership speaking with them now, and he told me the GT5 Premium is about 440 USD, and it should give push button start, all the cool features, etc. plus shipping. however, the instructions are in Korean, and it looks like it might need to be tuned with a computer online???? help me out.
