Hello On Ebay I recently sold an expensive £600 video recorder to a bidder in Italy who paid using Paypal. The recorder was in full working order when shipped from the UK, but after receiving the item, the buyer now claims the recorder is faulty. The buyer has now started a claims process with Paypal to obtain a refund, and whilst the claim is being considered, Paypal has frozen funds ...

I am bringing an issue across here from the Taxes board, as the thread has steered me into the legal arena. The previous thread can be found here: http://boards.fool.co.uk/Message.asp?mid=11751358& sort=w... but I endeavour to summarise. I am retired and receive lifetime private medical insurance from my former employer. This is taxable as a non-cash benefit, but I find myself being ...

RandomWords : "Have you tried comparing a private quote for a seventy-something retired person with a thirty-something employed person?" No, but we now have the company admitting that 3x-4x was excessive, so we no longer need to test it. "would be very interesting to see what your contribution is expected to be under the new calculation" We can infer that it may be about 20% p.a. less, ...

Hi and I wonder if anybody can help me with a bit of county court advice I wont give out too much information here on the actual case but I took a large company to the county court because they supplied a defective product (which they admitted) which in turn damaged some equipment in December last year. In January they sent me a cheque to fix the problem. A month later another problem occured...

Hi. I am new to this excellent site but have a serious problem with my House and Contents Insurance, in short no one will insure me. I made 6 claims in 4 years totalling £2,803. My insurer then increased my premiums 32% and my excess 10X. I refused the new policy and was told in no uncertain terms I would not get any better anywhere else. Actually no one will insure me now. One lady broker said ...

So after almost 6 months of letters, threats to sue, etc, I finally went to my local small claims court to file a claim under FDCPA today and was rejected for 3 reasons. The suit I tried to file was for $4500 ($1000 for the violation, and $3500 for pain and suffering and loss of credit): 1) The defendant is not in my area, and thus this court is the wrong venue. The defendant MUST be within ...

It would be best to go through all non-judicial channels first. This is a small amount of money, the filing fee is $65 which is already eating away at your small amount of money. - NC Attorney Generals Office (complain against management company) - Better Business Bureau against management company - Dispute charges on your credit report via certified letter, demand removal or proof the debt ...
If you decide to evict your tenants you should issue a section 21 notice requiring possession of your property, which does not need a reason. Forfeiture of leases is not a common event. I don’t think you have anything to fear in this respect. Simply deal with the problem at hand. Speak to your tenants in an enquiring manner. See if they deny/admit causing excessive noise. ...

"Have Tesco offered to repair or replace? No" Does that mean you have asked and they have refused, or you have not asked and they have not offered? She did not ask, and they did not offer. The store gave her a form to fill in and send to tesco customer services. About a week later she got the usual 'sorry about your problems' letter together with a refund for just under half of the ...

then you are kinda screwed. the F&F wording seems quite specific - all claims relating to the incident, which was the dodgy fuel. I wouldn't be optimistic with any argument to the contrary.
