Got switched over to Sky Broadband yesterday on the £10 package, even though my supposed max is up to 2.5mbit Nevermind, I have survived on 1mbit for ages so it's an increase. Anyway, it got enabled yesterday and using the Netgear web interface on my router, was told I was connected by not authenticated. I called Sky to find out my new username/password and was told i HAD to use the router...

Hi, Is there anyone from the UK here who uses Sky Broadband? I have a Netrear Sky provided router. I have accessed the routers web page and opened all the ports 80, 443 & 4125. I have even set the DMZ to the routers IP address but as yet I cannot access the WHS over the internet using the assigned HPhome.com name. I can access the web page if I type in the IP address on a networked computer ...

Hi, I'm on the free sky broadband package (speed should be up to 2MB) and am getting VERY slow speeds, approx 0.4 on the speed test. Does anyone have experience of upgrading from the free service to the £5 per month service and the affect this has on the speed of connection? Is it worth it, or is the cause of my slow speed more likely to be because of old phone wires / distance to the exchange ...

Please can anyone help? It wasn’t very long ago I was highly recommending BT for their services….this was until we moved house in September. Since then, they have been totally inept and the service has been a total shambles. Our broadband is faulty and whilst I am paying for option 3, my connection is slower than dial-up and that is when I can get connected. They have failed to fix ...

I have AOL Platinum at the moment but am looking to change to Sky Talk and Sky Broadband Unlimited. I do not have wireless with AOL, just standard broadband. I am just posting to ask a question. My PC in my living room is fairly old and is not wireless enabled, although I have a laptop that is. When I phoned Sky they said they would send a wireless adapter or dongle to use ...

First post, so hi ;-) This ought to be a no-brainer, but I just want to check. I've just moved into a flat and set up a BT phone line and Sky TV. In case you're wondering, I did speak to Sky about setting up the phone line with them, but it was going to take something like two weeks, and I'm impatient. Anyway, I want to get Sky Broadband now, and it's £5 a month cheaper if you have Sky...

I've currently got BT Option 3 broadband @ £22/month (+£11 line rental). I see that Sky are now offering unlimited broadband for £10/month (+£10 line rental). In peoples experience on here are these broadly equivalent? Would I really save £13/month with the same level of service etc.? Does anyone know of any better deals?

I've been with tiscali for about 2 years now and it is fine. Tiscali have been bought out by talk talk and when I am on facebook their are loads of ads for joining talk talk for £6.49 per month for broadband and some free calls at the moment I am on broadband and 24/7 calls and I still pay BT land line. I emailed tiscali and said I wanted to take advantage of this special offer and I got a ...

Thanks for the help guys. The reason I want to use N is to have my media player talk to my PC and stream HD content, which wouldn't be possible over the older wireless standards.

I'm puzzled by the statement on the Usage Tool page (on mine at least): "Dont worry, although were displaying your usage here, we will not currently upgrade you to a new package should you go over your usage allowance and you can carry on using your broadband as usual." Eh? So, does that mean we CAN go over till further notice cos the system is new / period one ...
