I'd like to ask, when would you ever need to perform a system reset on a sky box, as I'm concerned about losing my saved programs. Not to mention im having my box fitted with a 1TB HDD and I hear if you system reset the box, it'l only recognize it as a 500gb?

Just looked at the Box Office movies for next month and one of them is the 2006 Pixar film Cars. Now I always thought that SBO showed films never before screened on tv a few months after cinema release so why are they showing a film that has not only been on Disney Cinemagic but just a few months ago was on Sky Movies? ...

Is there such a thing that would hold all 3 units in one neat box. Im not looking for a unit to sit TV on then the units underneath in the cabinet. Basicly the units would be stacked on top of each other but obviously with gaps inbetween each unit. It would need to be quite small (obviously the width of the largest unit probs the PS3) as the space its going is not that large.

Each Christmas when I visit my parents abroad, I take my Sky card. This is because they have sky boxes, however they use the normal freeview version of Sky. So plugging in my card gets them all the channels I pay for. Now I have Sky HD, I'm unsure if the card I have is specifically for HD boxes. Also I am aware Sky introduced new cards across the board recently anyway....

I have a quad-LNB from sky dish feeding into 2 Sky+ digiboxes. I would like to be able to switch between Freesat TV and Sky box with signal from one of the coaxial Sky+ feeds. I am particularly interested in Freesat-HD to watch an occasional BBC programme. I know that I can get an octo-LNB and feed my Freesat signal sepeately. But I may get a Sky+HD sometime soon, and do not want to invest...

We currently have a 2.4ghz video sender so we can have an easy way to watch Sky in bed and it has worked well for a few yrs, but it appears a neighbour must have just got one. Would getting a 5.8ghz sender stop the interference as i don't realy want to run a cable?

Hi guys, I got Sky+HD multiroom installed there last week and the installer (lovely guy!) kindly ran a couple of temporary phone cables to both boxes for me for the install. All went fine and later that day I disconnected them planning to get a couple of those wireless extender things. Now, I never quite got around to that and after a wee or so of uninterrupted viewing I'm wondering if I ...

Hi hope this is in the correct place, We have Sky Tv downstairs which we use on a HD ready TV (no built in freeview, do not have terrestial tuned in either). Our house ariel comes from the roof, into the sky box and then up to our bedroom which does have built in freeview. The free view and terrestrial channels look lovely on the upstairs TV. We have attempted to tune our upstairs TV so...

Why does my Sky+ box turn my telly off? Been getting a strange problem with my Sky+ box over the last few months. When I'm watching either BBC1 or 2 (and occasionally ITV) my TV (LG LCD) will suddenly go blank and give me a 'no ...

Hi there, new to the forum and was just looking for some advice if possible. My brother lives abroad (lanzarote) and is desperate for some UK tv channels. Now, I have an old sky box myself which is all connected up and was here when I bought the place 5 years ago, I've never had an account with sky but I get all the FTA channels which does me fine, as I'm not much of a tv person. I guess I ...

Hi, It's time I bit the bullet and upgraded my 28" suitcase sized Sony TV. We currently watch Freesat through our Sky box (just cancelled our subscription). The Sky box is fairly old (2001) so I was thinking about getting a TV with Freesat integral. Is this a good idea? Can I still use the Sky dish and cabling with the Freesat TV or will I need a new dish? ...

I've just bought a used Amstrad Sky+HD box off ebay, and everything with the box itself is working fine. However, I have a Nikkai 5.8ghz video sender kit (recently bought from Maplin) that has a small remote extender 'mouse' for changing the Sky channel from the other room. The signal tranmission works fine - just you cannot change the channel from the other room. This worked fine with...

Just upgraded to Sky+ HD, I'm positive I saw a demo on Sky's website showing that when you upgraded you would get a far superior Sky TV guide and Planner, allowing you to categorise programmes etc The TV Guide / Planner etc are exactly the same as my old box, apart from having HD Channels category obviously... Any thoughts ? Thanks :-)...
