They're just taking templates of what were SOMEWHAT funny skits the FIRST time they did them, tweaking them very minimally, and just re-running them. Tho talented, Miss Whig's Gilley is pretty lame and most of the skits by current members were lacking. Too bad there wasen't more stuff by some of the older cast members, like Eddie Murphy, who was on for 15 seconds. Everytime the Gilley character came on i winced, just not funny......you could see NBC just threw this together and the older skits were good, but too little of all the most talented...

The love connection at the mall was pretty funny. And Abby Elliott is a babe. She's really gorgeous and talented too! Looks like they paired her w/ Taylor in many skits though. She really rises above the material and far surpasses her mediocre co-star Taylor.

SNL's "christmas choir' skits used to be legendary. Mary Katharine Gallagher, Gasteyer and Ferrell. What the hell was this crap I just watched? Kenan shrieking and squealing, a Michael Jackson song with the lyrics changed. WTF? Tonight's show is embarrassing.

I'd give this episode a solid grade. After two disasters (January Jones, JGL), the last two shows have been alright with some solid skits. Of course, it could still be a lot better and there's still some "wtf was that" type stuff but I've definitely finished these last two episodes somewhat entertained.
