The difference of taking a taxi from the airport area (Hyatt) compared to the city area to go to Larissa, should not be more than 10-15 Euro. BUT a ride to Larissa, should be an expensive one if you choose the taxi. Just to give you an example of prices. If one wants to go from Thessaloniki to Sithonia-Halkidiki, at a place of approximately 120 km away (1hr 30mins max), then...

It is Sithonia. Middle Peninsula, Northern Greece We stayed at Athena Pallas, Elia Beach. If you can go slightly out of season (September/October), it is still very warm, the beaches are to yourselves (as you can see), and the flight is only four hours. Tourism hasn't really hit here, so it is very unspoilt, and extremely beautiful. :-) Hope this helps some ...

I would have to disagree with "Carolinus" that Halkidiki is not a windy place. Well, generally you wouldn't call it windy, especially when compared to Greek islands of the Cyclades for example. But Sithonia, and especially the side that overlooks at Mt. Athos peninsula, tends to be pretty windy sometimes. Many times, you'll be able to see at the "hat", as we locals call ...

Well, this is what they are supposed to say by law, but I know people that have rented cars under these circumstances. So, something tells me that you 'll probably find your way out of this situation if you speak to the company. Regards,...

As you are renting a car for your stay, you may as well try a short trip to Sithonia, which is the 2nd "leg"/peninsula of Halkidiki ! There are plenty of things to see , little villages, traditional settlements (Parthenonas Village), tourist places and towns such as Neos Marmaras, Nikiti etc, a winery to visit (Porto Carras Grand resort), monasteries, and amaaaaazing beaches (there is ...

I do tend to study the weather, and I think that meteo.gr is NOT the best greek, weather website, but it should fit its purpose. As for Halkidiki , I think that you should try and see other places as well. Rent a car and go around Halkidiki. There are so many nice, little villages to explore if the weather is not sunny enough to stay at the beach. Try Sithonia as well. Some...

First of all, I have to congratulate you for your Greek!!! Very good job...and the answer to your question would be.... "Eimai kala, efharisto!" I'll do a little bit of research and send you a personal message with some of the resorts that I know in the Sithonia area, that are situated next to the beach, and hopefully it'll help. Something else I need to let you ...
