by Melissa :] Maddi's Momma!
Im looking for sippy cups directed more towards toddlers. Im trying to just get them now and store them until Maddi is a couple months older. She is already on the transition ones and the ones with handles so I dont need those, but what would you reccomend for an older one, like the straw ones or the hard tops?

are so gross. I hate them. Bottles were so much easier to clean. I keep a close eye on sippies and always rinse them right away, but they still get gross in the little tiny places I can't get to. Everyonce in awhile Teagan will hide one from me and by the time I find it I just have to toss it becasue it's so gross. How do you clean the tiny little places that you can't get to with your ...

My DS is now a little over 4 months and refusing the bottle. He was taking it fine up until about a month ago, when the BFing finally started going well. He's refusing to eat when I leave him with my mom to go to work, and I usually have to come home to feed him because he won't stop crying. We're doing cereal now too, but he still needs BM. I've heard that trying a sippy cup is a good ...

LO is almost 1 so in theory, she should be weaned from the bottle. is nipple prefence going to be a concern at this age? i am reluctant to move LO to sippy cups because of that. i NEED to keep her on BM for as long as possible (LO has low whie blood cell count). I would HATE to move her to sippy, then she would refuse the boob, and i have to go EP! what are your thoughts??

My daughter who is 11 months old on the 6th of dec. STILL will not drink from a sippy cup. We have tryed a variety of types and sizes and still she will not drink from the cup. She loves to play with it. Thinks it's funny if she gets stuff out of it when it is not in her mouth but will not drink anything from a sippy cup. Any advice on type or methods to get her to take a sippy cup. I do not ...

My DS isn't ready for solids, yet. But I know he will be soon, so for Christmas we're going to get the supplies we need. Which brands did you all like the best and is there anything else you can think of that I should also pick up?? Also, when it comes to brands of cereal and what did you all like best?? TIA.

If your baby uses one, what kind of sippy cup do they use? So far Lena will only drink from the NUK sippy's (we've tried Nuby and some off brand), but I don't like them, they leak pretty badly.

My DH and I have been wondering how in the world we can throughly clean the lids to the playtex sippy cups. I have tried soaking them, useing a Q-tip, and blasting them with hot water. is there anything else we can do? It gets yucky around the valvues and edges. I really hate to have to throw them away just to buy new ones, but Ive run out of ideas. Thanks!

Has anyone skipped bottles entirely and moved right onto sippy cups/regular cups. My DD is not a huge fan of the bottle, but seems to like her 1 sippy cup. I am wondering if I can just skip bottles and give her pumped milk right out of a sippy cup? Has anyone done this? Did it work at night too, or did you use bottles at night? We are still EBF, but I am thinking more for when I am away ...

My friend's daughter was like this. Re: kind of sippy cup...Playtex all the way. I wanted ones that have a hard top with no handles and these met our needs.

I wish I could get my son todrink out of straw. I remember being in walmart see a 9 month old with a cup that has a straw. Me and my mom had to stop the lady of the child and ask her how dd she get her child to drink from one. He drinks only from a sippy cup. I would recommand a cup with a soft rubber spout.

IDK if you've tried this or not, but when I first introduced the sippy, I just layed DS down in my arms and gave it to him like a bottle so he would realize that it's the same concept...We also started out with one of the learning ones made by Nuk.

Mason is using the Nuby soft spouts. He just figured out yesterday to turn it up to get a drink. He is still nursing and getting milk in a bottle for the most part. I just fill a sippy with water and he sips on it throughout the day.

With DD, the Nuby cups worked best to get her to start taking one. For younger babies, sometimes the straw sippy cup can work better for a baby who refuses a bottle.

my LO was one a few weeks ago and we've been using a sippy successfully for a few months now AND we still BF. i use the sippy for water (rarely juice) and whole milk with meals. BM comes from me or a bottle. so there's ways to introduce a sippy without removing the bottle, which i've read is good around this point in time. BUT your LO is an exception to the rule with her condition, so who ...
